Post The OFFICIAL Metroid hand sign

Yep. There it is.

It's actually quite easy to do. You basically just do the "rock on" sign (aka the sign of the horns) with both hands and then put them together. You touch your ring fingers and your thumbs to each other at the topmost knuckle, and then make a small gap with the lower half of your thumbs. Bingo! Metroid. Yep. I know. I'm awesome. :laughy:

Since it's being made of 2 sign of the horns, it basically makes Metroid Metal that much more awesome.

I must ask the originator of this marvelous gesture if it would be socially acceptable to make the aforementioned metroid hand sign upside down and over ones head? I would prefer not to have a small digital metroid floating beside my groin at a concert or some such similar occasion.

It probably would be. I fully realize that it's a little awkward to do without putting it near your crotch area. I just did it that way in the picture because it was easier to take a picture of myself that way.

If you want, you can bend your elbows and put it near your abdomen. If you do it above your head or "facing up" it kinda loses the effect of the Metroid, unfortunately... It might be even better if 2 people were involved; one person doing it overtop of the other person's head. :)

Physically awkward isn't enough to stop me from trying to put it in a different position

We were trying to pull this off this weekend at Nerdapalooza with varying degrees of success.

Well I guess it could turn into something like a gang sign. :P Passers-by flash the sign at you and you do it back. Like so:

Random guy walks by Stemage
*flashes Metroid hand sign*
Stemage notices
*flashes hand sign back*
Random guy keeps on walking like nothing happened :shifty:

It could also work in photo ops...

Lol I also ended up testing it out at Nerdapalooza and found chest high works alright. You can angle your hands down enough so it still looks like a right-side-up metroid but its up high enough where its visible and not groin-intrusive. plus you have the added bonus of being able to rapidly transition into and out of the sign of the horns :P
