Post Skyward Sword
I'm surprised there wasn't already a thread, but I think I'll start one.

Dust off your Wiis, everybody! It's time for a new 1st party Nintendo game.

Are we excited? Are we buying it at launch? Is it going to be overshadowed by games like Skyrim? I'm not good at keeping up with intertron news items lately, so I really have no clue if the collective hive mind is as excited about the game as I am. Personally, I'm glad the Thanksgiving tradition of playing a new Zelda game every 5 years-or-so is holding up nicely.

I really want to buy the Gold Wiimote bundle, but I hate pre-ordering at Brick-and-Mortar stores. I think I'm just going to walk into Wal-Mart/Target/Best buy on launch day on try my luck.

It looks pretty amazing, and surprisingly deep.
I should probably play Twilight Princess first, then I'll be ready.

I pre-ordered mine some months ago due to being a dribbling Zelda fanatic. The gold Wii-mote pack is a must for me seeing as i never bothered with a Wii-mote plus for anything else.

I have already made the Mrs sign an agreement which nullifies all attempts at divorce until all hearts/bottles/bags are collected and the credits have rolled.

I left my Wii with my niece when I moved out, so sadly this will be the first console Zelda that I will not be playing.

This.

I'll always buy a Zelda game. It looks like they are doing a fair amount of new things with it so I'm totally down with that.

I haven't had my Wii for a couple years, so I won't get to play it till I eventually get a Wii U.

I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. 45 hours for Twilight for me - f**king loved it. I dig the art style in the new one. Something about the faces is hypnotizing. I really wish it could be experienced in HD, but I don't care that much. :)

I'm really excited for this, what I played at PAX was brilliant. I've got the gold Wiimote Plus bundle pre-ordered at work.

I love the Zelda aesthetic they are rocking this time around. I love that they continue to experiment with the "look" of Zelda games. Maybe we will see a couple of sequels using the Skyward Sword models, a la Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Really dig the art in this one as well. It's a nice blend of the serious normal Twilight Princess look with a dab of cel shading.

Can't wait to get a Wii again someday for this.

I had a dream/daydream last night that the opening for Skyward Sword was Link dreaming as he wandered upon an entruance to some underground ruin, and you were playing as him in the dream. This served as the tutorial mode for the game, and as you went from room to room fighting bats and slimes, it dawned on me that this was Dungeon 1 from the original LoZ, all realized in the gorgeous SS aesthetic.

It was true to the original, all the way down to an old man chained up in one of the rooms saying "Eastmost peninsula is the secret" and finding the Bow (and Arrow). After an epic battle with the dragon at the end of the Dungeon, Link wakes up and the real game begins.

What better way to handle a "tutorial" mode? Instead we'll get 5 hours of Link wandering around rounding up chickens or fetching pails of water for villagers.

Le Sigh.

That's a damn good idea. You could have bits of the environment shift in and out of reality - dream style. They could really do something special with it. Could make for a great in-store demo as well.

I'm ready for my chicken fetch quest though.

A Zelda game based on dreams/sleep would be pretty cool. Oh wait, I guess that was Link's Awakening. :shifty: Well, no wonder that's my favorite Zelda game.

lol

Also, I still kind of hate the title of this one. Doesn't roll off the tongue well at all.

Back when it came out I kinda like the name, but now all I can think of is Sparkly Link when I hear it.

Play in-between coats? If only there were a way to make your wiimote gestures translate into brush strokes on the wall....

I gave my Wii to my girlfriend when I left for university and as a result I'm going to miss out on this... gutted.
I haven't read any of the reviews yet but best Zelda ever? I find that difficult to believe, I mean it's got to top the likes of Majoras Mask and Ocarina of Time. Super gutted if this is actually the case for once...
