 -THE THIRD E-
Guys, E3 is in just over a week! Sounds like it'll be a pretty cool show, assuming you like video games and not new hardware announcements. Thought I'd post a guide to where and when you can watch the conferences (all times are Pacific).
E3 Show Floor: June 5-7
Thursday, May 31: : 10:30pm Sunday, June 3: : 3pm Monday, June 4: : 9:30am : 1pm : 3pm : 6pm Tuesday, June 5: : 9am
Where to watch: you know the drill by now - most major game sites are streaming the conferences. For example , , . If you're in the US, Spike TV is showing every conference live, and IGN appear to be streaming via their Xbox 360 app.
Of course, each company will be showing their own conferences too; is already up, Microsoft are , and Sony are . and have official pages up too. And everyone is streaming on Facebook because social media, guys.
Konami are doing their own pre-E3 livestream again this year. . Nintendo have also announced a pre-E3 Nintendo Direct being streamed at 3pm on Sunday, focusing on Wii U.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
I liked the bombastic, dark feeling of the first Star Fox game. You could align that with the dark feeling of Metroid. Bring back General Pepper's sunglasses, Slippy's pearl necklace, and Hajime Hirasawa's no-nonsense Corneria tune.
Wing , motherf**ker.

They don't call him Slippy for nothing. I'm telling you, these guys went to the School of Hard Knocks. They've got s**t that doesn't get on screen, and it's high time some of it did.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
Holy moly that guy overacting during the zombie game section was awful. The features look cool, but that was so hard to watch.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
Those things are always so hard to watch. They should know better by now! It's an E3 video, so it's not like they need to make videos for people that don't know what videogames are. Pretty pathetic. I laughed a few times though.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
Can't say I blame them, looking at the number of people that use 360 for Netflix and such. SmartGlass looks neat though.
Also, Watch Dogs? Holy s**t. Between that, AC3, Rayman Legends, Far Cry 3 and Splinter Cell, Ubi's show was great, despite the uncomfortable tension between the hosts and bizarre eSports tangent.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
Gotta watch todays coverage, but from what I have seen in text form things are underwhelming. The big N may win the show again, after all they are showing off some neat things. If they can just get that third party support going on then I'll be banking on their abilities. We shall see tomorrow. Edit: XBOX seems very focused on the entertainment aspect which modders like myself were patching in on the OG XBOX to make it a media center. Not that this is a bad direction... but if I have a sweet PC (which I do) then why the f**k to I need a console? Halo4 looks bland, and for that matter anything MS had exclusive looks like an uninteresting mess to me. Edit2 (EA): Medal of Honor looked cool until they did the whole linkin park segment. Immediate "fuckit" from me. However, NFS: Most Wanted looked sweet and although Prodigy is just as reprehensible of a music choice I can at least enjoy it. Hope that s**t comes to PC, we have steering wheel peripherals too . And then I saw the Origin logo... guess it is OK since I broke down and got BF3 anyway. Anything else will come in further posts, but I am much more excited for Nintendo than any other company. I may be a PC gamer but I will always purchase consoles from the big N. Handhelds not so much, my OG DS serves just fine.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
Sony's showing was pretty cool, except for all the PS Blog readers they placed in the crowd to cheer at every single thing. Beyond looks like a Quantic Dream game alright. The Last of Us continues to look fantastic. The LBP2 Cross Controller thing looked neat (and Wii U-like). Their Smash Bros game doesn't look half bad either. The Wonderbook thing looks cool, but that demo dragged on too long. God of War still look like God of War, and I haven't decided how I feel about that yet.
EA had some cool showings. Like Need for Speed, which I cannot wait for, and SimCity, which I will download Origin for if that's what it comes down to. Even that Facebook game looked kinda neat. I'm disappointed in Dead Space's move away from pure horror, but I'm not writing it off yet; it could still be good.
I wasn't expecting massive innovation and new IPs this year - it's the 6/7th year of the generation, and the new hardware is coming next year. There's a lot of awesome games being shown (and not everything is in the press conferences). Looking forward to Nintendo's show later.

 Re: -THE THIRD E-
In addition to the XBOX section... USHER lolwut? That was just awful. I already lost respect for him when he became popular and rejected his hometown to claim Atlanta. Yes, he is from my hometown... so is Sam Jackson. Guess who has mad respect and who is a douche-turd. Anyway, dancing games may be cheesy but that was amazingly bad. Also, the South Park RPG isn't going to be exclusive to XBOX is it?
Sony: The Last of Us. Holy badass. I am just torn because while it may look nice on PS3 it will looks soooooooooo awesome on a good gaming PC. We were able to convince Namabadai to port Dark Souls, maybe we can do so for this piece of radness. Beyond looks really really cool, I missed out on Heavy Rain but they seem to know how to tell a great story. I may buy a PS3 for this title. I also dig all the cross-platform and cross-controller stuff. Vita did not look very good in the early days, perhaps they can offer a reason to purchase one. PSN downloadable content look sick, but I have the feeling a lot of that will trickle into the PC market for the simple fact that their sales will be likely 4x the amount on a single console.
Speaking of which WHY NOT HAVE A PC SHOWCASE? For the whole run of E3 I have been wondering this. We kinda feel neglected over here in the PC camp, not that we have much to complain about though. 6 year old hardware can have some nice looking things on it, but holy shazbot do things look nice on my rig.
Edit: so Wonderbook seems neat for kids... but seriously when are they going to stop milking Harry Potter? I despise that series, but I could respect it a bit if it weren't so whored out. That bit went out the window after seeing book of spells.
On a much more positive note I am going to LOVE playing some Sony stuff on my android phone. I get the feeling that I will need an upgrade though.
