I'm making a Metroid-like game for the NES, using Castlevania II as a game engine. Since this is the Metroid Metal forum, I thought you guys might appreciate this type of game. It will definitely get finished at some point, probably within a year.

How are you hacking the Castlevania II binary? I've seen hacks that replace sprites, but it looks like you're changing more. Did you disassemble the object code and rewrite parts of it?

I realize there are advantages and disadvantages to this method, mostly disadvantages. But it's just how I learned after doing this for years and years. The highlighted code is a cycle for an enemy's behavior.

I agree with some of the comments though, the main character's sprite and animation leaves a bit to be desired in comparison to everything else, heh.
