that's a small chunk for a 24 hour period. you get, what, a bar every 8 hours of rested in WoW? maxes out at 1.5 levels after a week or something.


You feel normal.

Had to post this.

They relaxed the Super Group Base Building rules and costs severely in the latest issue. All Raid pathing was disabled and item and room costs were dramatically lowered. A single person could easily build a big base now if they were inclined.

So, big deal, right?

I know, I know. No one plays anymore.

I felt this was cool enough to post.

Issue 14 is on test right now. It's called "Mission Architect".





In a phrase: Player Created Content

You can create mission arcs from 1 to 5 missions using a modified form of the very tools that the devs use to make content. You can use nearly any NPC or object in the game as a Mission Contact. You create the mission objectives, dialog for the contact, placement of mobs, you name it. Custom NPCs as allies or mobs is fair game and you can even create custom groups of NPCs using any character in the game. Want to make a mission full of every single ArchVillain in the game teamed together? No problem. You're only limited by the number of spawn points on the map, which you can also choose.

You can also earn ingame rewards to buy recipes and enhancements from these missions. It's like an arcade and you earn tickets to buy things.

Oh, and if enough people rate your content highly and the devs agree, they'll put it in the Hall of Fame where you earn special rewards for creating good content as well as possibly having your stories become cannon.

necro'd yet again.

Before the Going Rogue paid expansion comes out, Issue 16 will happen.

Issue 16 is called Power Spectrum.



Basically, All the non-weapons sets that rely on particle effects to show elements and energies will have customizable colors and effects.

The Characater Creation Screen is also getting a revamp to be even cooler.

More powersets are being shared among the different ATs.

They also improved the ability of a player to set the difficulty for their own missions. If you want the game to treat you like you're a team, you can set it for that. And you can adjust the conning of the mobs too.


Looks really, really cool. Just had to share.

Does anyone here play CoH/V??
I love that game so much, but decided to stop playing it cause it practically took over my life haha. Its been about 4 months since i last played it and i miss it so much lol. ill probably renew my account once i get some more money. anyways, just wanting to know if anyone plays it?

Champions Online is also based sorta on the Champions gaming system.

You can choose your powers a lot more freeform than you can in CoH. Want a defensively strong character that still has some great ranged attacks? you can do that. All sorts of combos and some different travel powers too.

It's also apparently more solo friendly even than CoH which they're dialing back a bit right now, so I hear.

I'm tempted to give it a try just to see the difference.

One final necro post.

Paragon Studios, the branch of NC Soft that runs City of Heroes, announced that they are being shut down and all development has been stopped. Despite the fact that the game is still profitable, even after going F2P, NC Soft looks like it's going to focus on its other titles.

I've been an active player, and yes- subscriber, for 8.5 years there now. The announcement was sudden and without any warning. New powersets were in active development, a new free content Issue was in open beta with several more updates being worked on. It's literally been a home for me online. Hell, I've attended the weddings of other players, both in game and in real life. It's really sad to see it end like this, when everyone involved, both devs and players, were still active, excited, and looking to the future.

To bookend this, here's the first character I posted an image of in the first post of this thread.



Here's my current version of a Samus costume, standing in the same place in this zone.

Rumor I heard is that NCSoft is shutting down COH/V in an attempt to get more people to play their pet project Aion, which has supposedly been hemorrhaging money of late. Story goes that most of COH/V's profits along with a cut from GW/GW2's have been trying to shore up Aion, and because GW2 is "not selling to expectations" (even though the servers crashed twice during early start and launch due to the number of players involved...) they're axing Paragon Studios as 'punishment' upon the American playerbase.

So, anyone up for petitioning Best Korea to wipe NCSoft off the map?
