Demon's Name is Surveillance, Swarm, Demiurge, and The Last Vigil are all songs I'm super excited to the full versions of. The rest, I've either heard before or I'm just not into them.

It's great. Seems to be some weird mashup if Chaosphere, Nothing, and Obzen. Production is definitely best they've ever had imo. s**t rocks.

OK I'm the asshole.

Do Not Look Down rocks. But. This album is BORING. Do something new. Do a drum fill. Do anything other that half-whole diminished. SERIOUSLY.

PRODUCTION: Sounds great until any double bass part. Then it pumps worse than any record I've ever heard. It's unlistenable, AND I DIG OVER THE TOP BRICKWALLED stuff.

I'll give it two or three more spins before it hits the shelf. But wow what a snooze

Maybe it will grow on you after a few more listens? Maybe not. Swarm is one of my fav Meshuggah tracks now. All Meshuggah albums since Chaosphere have been slow burns for me, and this one is growing on me more all the time. Sorry you don't like it man! You're a Meshuggah cat, so that's gotta be disappointing. There is plenty of other good metal out there!

I bought the DEI reissue with Koloss. I've decided that Meshuggah is a lot like Incubus. The later stuff is completely OK until you listen to Science - then you realize you are settling.

I DO like the later 'shuggah stuff, but man... DEI. I was quickly reminded why it's my favorite metal record.

I wish Hagstrom could still write stuff like Acrid Placidity. Last Vigil was a big letdown...

If the new Special Defects record sucks I guess I'll just have to stop listening to music

New album sounds great. Closer to Nothing and Chaosphere. It's more straight-forward but not as thrash as DEI. Definitely their best IMHO since Chaosphere, although I did like I.

Favourite track so far is Behind the Sun by far.
