I'm listening to a recent follow-up of an album called, "Black Light Syndrome". It's a trio of Tony Levin, Steve Stevens and Terry Bozzio. This album's called, "Dangerous" and the tune itself is called, "Lost".

I saw a Levin video not long ago makin light of that bathroom scandal with the homo sex and the republican.

Currently listening to:

"Slightly All The Time/ Noisette/ Backwards/ Noisette (Reprise)" by Soft Machine

I've been looking up some info on Metallica's new album. Lately, i've been in the mood for their older stuff. Enter Sandman, One, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and Sanitarium have been infesting my MP3.

I'd consider anything over a decade "old stuff". Of course I realize the term could also be very subjective.

Back in high school, I used to draw the line before AJFA. Everything before was "old metallica," anything with Jason was "new metallica." In college, the line was drawn between AJFA and Black. Now I draw it after Black. Funny how that works.

Well really that just makes sense. There are less years between Metallica forming and The Black Album being released than there are years since the Black album.

And for posting on topic, I'm listening to the Head on the Door by the Cure.

I still draw the line at AJFA because of stylistic differences.

On the topic of thrash, I've been listening to Flotsam and Jetsam.

Helstar's Nosferatu and Mercyful Fate's Don't Break the Oath, albums respectively.

Edit: I preffer to think of everything pre-Black Album as "old" Metallica, and everything "post" as new. It really has more to do with sound and style than age.

New upcoming album sounds interesting. Dig the cover art.

Kyrie in Dm, Mozart's Requiem.

Edit: Does anyone know when they're releasing the new Metallica single?

Listening to Audioslave's first CD currently, and I still dig the tunes... I can't differentiate between most of their stuff, it all sound really similar to me, but that doesn't stop it all from being catchy.

Well, yeah, I think so. I remember the entire band had such long hair in their videos for Sandman and One, and now like over 10 years later, everyone (minus Kirk) got haircuts. Then again, their new bassist Trujillo also has long hair, but IMO, I consider anything after 1991 their "newer" stuff, just to easily separate their great albums from their....not-too-great albums. (*Fingers crossed for D. Magnetic*)

Harvey Milk - The Pleaser

Pretty much their only accessible album at the time of it's release. Now they're more sludgey rock n roll, but before they were definitely big fans of The Melvins.

The Pleaser is a Jump Blues infected jam. Solid licks, good dynamics. Great album all together.

Master of Puppets. I have it stuck in my head. More specifically, the acoustic interlude just before the harmonized arpeggios start playing.

A couple of songs off of Death Magnetic have kept me coming back.
Judas Kiss
The End of The line
Suicide and Redemption
My Apocalypse

I've also been listening to their older instrumentals, including Burton's bass solo, Anesthesia. Good s**t.

Aphex Twin- Xmd5a

I just found it on last.fm.

I'm really starting to like Aphex, even though I really don't listen to much electronica or techno at all. The music is just very creative.

Anyone have any of RDJ's albums, I think maybe I should pick up Drukqs, but from what I've heard, Selected Ambient Works Volume 2 is his masterpiece.

Can't stop listening to them since I found them a few weeks ago. The video to this song is streamable and lolz. Anyone else?

After hearing Torvus bog a few times, I got this sudden and random urge to listen to older MM tracks back from '03 and '04. Listening to The Ending right now 8)
