This diet could not be simpler, common.

Oh I know it's simple. I just didnt think a banana or something in the morning could hurt that bad if I follow the diet the rest of
the day.

Breakfast is the *worst* time you can slack, if my experiments are to be believed.

I've had a couple of all-fruit cheat days, and they're fantastic.

Yeah, I could see myself doing an all fruit cheat day. My meals have been pretty bland, I think I'll try some of the recipes you guys posted.

Remember to break your mentality of every meal needing to be good.

That goes the longest way in reducing how 'boring' the diet is. Remind yourself that this over all other diets is the only one you still get to have all the bananas you want* ever and beer so much beer*.

Thanks for the push in the right direction Doom. I did a lot of damage but am still 36/38 in waist (up from definite 36. I stress eat and I had a lot of financial and emotional stress the last couple of weeks (I think about 3) that I haven't been on.

I'm taking a 10 day vacay in NY and there will be a severe disregard for my body going on for each and every day. Time to die.

Yes, on SCD food is fuel, nothing more. You are putting the stuff in your body that it needs to survive. I derive no pleasure from eating during the week, only when I make something fun like soup or chili. It's hard to get excited over the same scrambled eggs and lentils. I also end up eating a lot slower usually and I have greatly tuned into my "I'm full" sensor.

This is the point, since you are trying to also break your emotional attachment to food. Food used to make me happy, like I'd go grab wendy's after a rough day. The carb/sugar high would last about an hour and then I'd feel like s**t again. On SCD I'm generally high energy all the time as long as I'm eating enough.

EDIT @TS: Remember your air squats and grapefruit juice yo

Thanks for the help guys! I'll keep you posted on my weight progress every couple weeks or so. :-D
Now I just need to buy a scale. I could also see myself saving a lot of money on this diet.

Don't forget to take other measurements. I measure my biceps, waist, hips and thighs weekly. There may be weeks where you only lose half a pound but you lose a full inch in your waist. I get more excited about my waist size changes than the weight loss now. Take a shirtless pic of yourself now also. At day 30 and day 60 take another picture. It's pretty enlightening. I still see a fatty in the mirror, but when I look at my day 120 pic compared to day 0 it's like HOLY s**t WHO IS THAT GUY?

The reverse of the inches thing seems to be true as well. I was really slack for several weeks, and didn't really gain any weight back, but I did notice one very obvious change, and that was my waist inches. Specifically, I'd lost my love handles, but then they came back with a vengeance. Working on getting those back under control now.

HI5!! Expect a big hug at MAG, particularly since we can now both get our arms around each other.

My wife went to the grocery store yesterday, and I asked her to pick up ingredients to make that italian sausage, spinach, bean soup because it's great and awesome. She got regular country sausage instead. I give her points because technically, Italy is indeed a country.

That soup is indeed awesome. I make a huge pot on Sunday and eat it pretty much once a day during the week.

Now I'm hungry and want the same thing. But... I don't want to drive 30 miles and spend 10 bucks just to get one. Oh well.

I want to be smothered to death by pizza, then have my corpse scooped up by cookies and have my body put in a bag full of ice cream.

I'm addicted to ordering clothes online now :(

All that money I would have been spending at Chili's or Steak 'n' Shake is now being spent at Land's End and Levi's. As nice as they all fit now, I'm worried I'll lose another 2 inches in my waist and have to start all over. AGAIN.

And OH GOD. The sweaters. I need sweaters. NEED.

But it's nice to have jeans that fit without your gut getting pinched.

I'm dying today on my binge. So much hot tamales and fine chocolates (i ordered some from a kid, they're laced with sugar).

Steaks for breakfast has been my new favorite thing during the strict times this go around.

Post Re: Slow Carb Cookbook
So I'm doing Couch to 5k, and yesterday was supposed to be the end of Week 6. A 15 minute run, a 5 minute walk then a 5 minute run. Every other session has been great -- sweating my ass off, but great. Now, this past weekend I fell off the diet wagon just a little bit. Went out and had a few too many to drink on Friday, then on Saturday and Sunday I ate like a monster. Carbs, Sugar, Fatty Meat, everything I could shove in my face. Yesterday I had a large meal at McDonald's for lunch and then said "okay, I'll be good the rest of the day and then do my run tonight!"

Fast forward to me, 7 minutes into my 15 minute run, just curled up in the fetal position with horrible stomach cramps. It felt like I had a hot rock in my stomach. I think I was way more dehydrated then I imagined, and the carbs, cheese and fats just sitting in my stomach getting jostled around set off an alarm. My stomach was bloated all night and I had this dull throb. BLARGH.

So alcohol + fats + dairy + carbs - water + running = OW OW OW OW OW. Can't wait to go clean again for a week. There's a reason it's a cheat day and not a cheat weekend, and that you shouldn't exercise on cheat day.
