Yeah, I kind of think that every movie is too big of a topic to just fit into one.

I dunno, it could work. You could have this thread to make quick comments on any movie you had seen in the past 24 hours. And if you think the movie warrants a thread, hey go ahead and make it. Because not every movie deserves it's own thread.

I like the approach Metal_Monkey but I'd like to take is a step further and turn this place into the Thread of Cinematography Shame.. because any movie that doesn't deserve its own thread can't be that good in the first place.

I'm with IBB. If this just so happens to shoot off ... an index would really need to be made, otherwise it'd get pretty tedious if this turns into a multi-paged thread with movie reviews scattered all over. I'd be ugly.

Its too broad though if you ask me. I think we're fine with seperate threads.

Just my 2 frosties.

I, for one, would like to commend tapeman for contributing a thread that offers something worth while to the chat board. Also, if no one else is going to make use of it, I will.

I just got finished watching Pan's Labyrinth. First off, the cinematography in this film is crazy good. The DP on this one deserves what ever the Spanish equivalent of an Oscar is. Overall, the story on this one was very what the f**k. Not in a bad way but sort of in a Donnie Darko way. I'd recommend any one who enjoys movies to check this one out however you can.

I know that doesn't say much, but it's late and I'm still a bit puzzled about what I just watched.

Hear hear. Good job, Tapeman.

The 1978 version of Dawn of the Dead. It's hilarious and even a little thought provoking, absurd in all the right places and the acting is as over-the-top as I like it. If zombie movies are your thing, do check this one out.

(^^^first movie that came to mind)

One of my favorites. I love the music.

Th Big Lebowski - 10/10

If you haven't seen this movie, then I can't be your friend until you do. Even if the friendship thing doesn't work out, you still have to see this movie.

I saw "Army of Darkness" which is the third installment of, "The Evil Dead" series. It does fall short of the original Evil Dead, but it was still a good watch. 7/10. 10/10 for "The Evil Dead".

Fail. The order of evil dead greatness is as follows:

Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Evil Dead

Now you must pay your penance by watching Bruce Campbells best role in Bubba Hotep

I don't know, man. My list looks like that too right but Evil Dead and Army are constantly switching places. Army has lots of the loltastic humors, but Evil 1 has the Tree Rape.

We all can agree, however, that 2 is the best.

Children of Men: 9/10
I know I probably masturbate over any sort of dystopian post-apocalyptic science fiction but incredible effects and filmmaking plus my bug-eyed black buddy Chiwetel Ejiofor make this flick one to remember.

That would also be my order of preference.

Also, I really like the theme song to Bubba Hotep. So much that I wrote lyrics to it and sequenced it in MIDI a while back. I haven't done much with it since then though. Fun movie anyways. Bubba Hotep gets 8/10.

I don't think Bubba Hotep is an amazing film by any stretch, fun to watch and neat but nothing amazing. I just think that Bruce Campbell plays the best Elvis I've ever seen in any film.

Bubba Ho-tep was awesome until the last 20 minutes or so. Then I just hated it.

I decided to sit down and watch Ultraviolent, since it was on tv. Not as awful as I heard it was. The fight scenes were the highlight, especially the final scenes. The gun kata was better, but the editing of the fight scenes made them hard to follow.
Average at best, but worth a watch if you want to see a hot white chick killing lots of people.

I thought that whole movie was f**king retarded. I was really excited for it, too, since Equilibrium is one of my all time favorites. I personally felt it had no redeeming qualities, not even the fight scenes.

Truth. That movie was beyond retarded. I still feel dirty for having watched it. At least it was short.

Watched "Crank" a few days ago because it's been a long week and i wanted a dumb action flick and i have a man-crush on Jason Statham (sp) and it was fun. Dumb as a box of rocks, indeed, but i larfed a fair amount.

Mark my words, i'll work with Turkish at some point in my life.

Finally got to watching Requiem For A Dream this week (I've delayed it for what, 6,5 years?)...9/10? Dunno, it's good anyway. Watch it, all three of you people who have not yet seen it.

What were you people's opinions on Crash, by the way? I hated it. It blows balls.

I remember loving it when I first saw it. Second time, all the racial mamblojambos started to get to me. A solid 5.

A Scanner Darkly. Saw it two days ago and my first view was sorta distorted. I didn't get it very well, but on my second viewing loved it hard. Robert Downey Junior. Crazy. 8/10 because I had to see it two times because I'm a moron. Take it.

5 is about right for me, too. i thought it was like a fairly well done after school special.

racism is bad? what!?!

i do like paul haggis, though. million dollar baby is one of my favorite films. then again, i'd follow Eastwood into Hell where we would no doubt take the place over in a matter of days.

i still haven't seen Crank, but I really want to. What you just wrote is a glowing endorsement if I've ever seen one. I, too, have a man-crush on the Stat-man.

I like his flicks, but I have a friend who has told me she'd drag him into a dark alley and rape his ass if she ever had the chance.

actually, that sounds kinda bad. Let me clarify. It would be more of a Demi Moore & Michael Douglas rape, not a Pulp Fiction rape.
