You knew you could just watch "The Young and the Restless," but you wanted to be a publishing industry whore and got all fancy nipples on us.

Persepolis (all of it) by Marjane Satrapi. Solid solid solid.

Also, a million bajillion research papers on graphics. No researcher can write worth a damn.

So, I actually finished The Terror last month. First book I've finished in a while, and possibly the best book I've ever read. I mean, pretty much.

Starting "The Stand" now, I've never read Stephen King before, so we'll see how this goes. I'm excited. It's probably gonna take a while since it's the "uncorked edition" that's about as long as, say, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, or, the Bible.

Just finished the KLF manual ("How To Have A Number One The Easy Way"). It was really entertaining, and it offers a look into the challenges of organizing business with a lot of different people on your own.

Also reading The Return of Little Big Man.

The Terror was nice and thrilling, but if it's the best book you've ever read, you need to start super utilizing that library card. There's a whole world out there.

Fat Asshole Fantasy Writer News (fafwn): "A Dance With Dragons" has a hard release date for July 12. I'll believe it when the book is in my hands.

Well, I'd love to read more, but I'm afraid my love for video games just surpasses that of reading and therefore my relatively scant freetime is spent gaming. It's like a dilemma but not.

I grabbed Hunger Games for the PAX flight - as I was told to check it out to see how similar it was to Battle Royale. It is very much, and pisses me off to read so many quotes about the concept being original. It's very young adult. I have no interest in continuing the series, but it is a great taste of a milder, teen version of Battle Royale.

I just finished "You Might Be A Zombie and Other Bad News". Pretty much just reading cracked.com without ads or whatnot. Very fun book. Even if only half of it is true, it is a little shocking.

When I eventually get The NeverEnding Story and I am Legend back I'll likely read them again shortly after.

Nice, oddly enough in concordance with both of your lists, I've been plodding through the Foundation series over the last year (It's great, I just have a lot of books) and I just picked up an really nice hardcover of Lovecraft's "Complete Fiction" for $20 at B&N. I'll get into that soon.

Currently reading the Space Wolves Second Omnibus. Been working on this six-book series for a few years now. Makes me want to play the tabletop game, but that is an investment of way too much time and money for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of either.

So apparently I've been bitten by the "Urban Fantasy with strong Female leads" genre bug. Current series I am reading because of it:

Faith Hunter's "Jane Yellowrock" series
Diana Rowland's "Kara Gillian" series
Eileen Wilks' "The Lupi" series
Linda Robertson's "Persephone Alcmedi" series
Kelly Armstrong's "The Otherworld" series
Patricia Briggs' "Mercedes Thompson" series

What can I say? I seem to have a thing for hot, ass-kicking, supernatural chicks. Does that make me a furry?

Post Re: What are you currently reading?
Well I've probably read 800 books since I last posted in this thread, but recently I read George Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series 1-5. Very entertaining books. Not really superb literature by any means, but I hate books that people call literature anyway. Popcorn books. Couldn't put em down, read all five in a week.

Just finished a great book last night called 'Indivisible' by Troy Grice. It's a 'fall of America' story pulled right from the headlines and extrapolated out to worst case scenario. It was a real mindfuck. The catalyst to the whole collapse was the Chinese refusing to do a reverse buyback with the Treasury and then lowering our credit rating. When I woke up this morning after having finished the book at 2am, the first news story on my feed was that the Chinese just lowered our credit rating and I pissed all over myself. Well, not really, but it was still creepy.

Lastly, a short story I know a majority of you would appreciate. 'The Bear That Fell From The Stars'. It's a very well written story about a f**king NINJA in ancient Japan who gets f**king KIDNAPPED by f**king ALIENS! They cryo him for like 1000 years or whatever, and then when they defrost him to experiment on him he goes apeshit on their ship and proceeds to f**k THE s**t out of all of them with swords and blowguns and ninja stars and s**t. Basically, assassinates the entire crew and blows up their space ship which has been in orbit around earth for like 5000 years. When I saw it on Amazon I was like 'whaaaaa, naaaahh' but I read the reviews which were all positive, so I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed. Best .99c I ever spent.
