I got to see Dysrhythmia with Behold the Arctopus at the show in Charlotte. They were frickin' incredible.

Oh I just noticed that Colin wasn't in the band at that point.
Great song, though! Wasn't too big on Pretest to be honest...but Barriers and Passages was a Top 10 album of mine last year.

That song is so cool, but you recommend the more recent album? I want to buy one but can't figure out which one.

Yea Barriers and Passages is better paced in my mind so go for that first. I do think you'd enjoy Pretest, as well.
They're both good, but they're like 2 different flavors since the bassists are different.
There's also a live album from Relapse that saw a bit of a limited release...but if you can find it I'd recommend that, too.

I really really really really really really like My Relationship. Is the rest of Pretest like that?

No, not really. Maybe that's why I was let down by it at first. Relationship is probably my favorite song off of that album...
Edit: Well now that I think about it, I guess some other tracks could be considered similar within the same context, since they have that whole unique style going. But what I mean is that the album, or the band for that matter, isn't as "straightforward rock" that Relationship would lead you to believe, as they tend to switch paces a lot and jam on stuff for a while. Overall, I think you would still really like the rest of the album. Some of their stuff actually reminds me of stuff you would possibly do...
Oh man I am just babbling at this point.

Well I have another couple of youtube videos up if anyone cares. One is just a redo of an earlier video I made that I didn't officially post here, cause...well it sucked. But it's much better now. You can see it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku8l_1Nuqns
It's a tune called Samus' Stardrive and I thought it would be a fun one to learn considering the Metroid theme...although it doesn't actually have any musical Metroid themes. The original tune was just inspired by the game.
And another cover of Andy McKee's that isn't on his recent 'Art of Motion' CD but will probably be on his next one. It's called 'Ouray' and was originally released on his Nocturne album.

Hope you guys like.

*gasp*, 2001 was more than just a couple years ago...
And I hadn't seen this before.

Also, their song for Asheville!

From their 04 tour where they wrote a song for every venue they played. Hah, ridiculous.

holy moly, I can't believe how terrific that was. I hope youtube doesn't pussy out as usual and pull it at the first sign of a copyright holder's discontent.
And, sweet, there's an Elliott Smith cover at http://sadkermit.com as well!

Heres our friend Frank doing a small Star Wars set on accordion to open up our set in February. Come watch us dance around like asses, it's great.

You should probably get him in some future Arm Cannon songs and kick it old school Chromelodeon style.
Or did I just ruin a future project?

That's totally the plan. I just have to figure out where the f**k to put him.
He's the kinda guy I could just name off some chords and he'll get it in like 5 seconds.

Not too big on the vox either...
They were always one of those bands I kept reminding myself to check out (especially since they're kinda sorta local). When I finally did I wasn't too impressed, but the live performances I see online always crack me up. I should probably get a cd. Probably.
