AWWWWW s**t, SON! He was all "How you remember s**t from 18 years ago?" and you was all "'Cause I'm old, bitch!" and we was all "DAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNN!!!!!11!1!!!"

I was going to respond to Divinebeing's post with me saying that I was 6, but this just stole the cake. Actually, wait, scratch that, earned the cake.

I didn't really consider age when I posted that, rather just my horrible memory. Can't remember any intricate details of things like that going back that far... haha.

Was 7 myself in 1994. Probably hitting up Donkey Kong Country or something, I remember getting through the first four worlds Christmas day when I got it. That's about as detailed as I can get though. lol

I've been playing the new Professor Layton for a couple days. Seems great! The characters haven't lost anything in the move to polygons, and the anime cutscenes look nice on the higher-rez screen. They're putting out a puzzle every day for a whole year via Wi-Fi too, which is nuts (that's over two games worth of puzzles for free).

Super excited about both AC3 and Most Wanted this week!

Halo 4 was short as heck.

Cool stuff though. I'm sure multiplayer will make up for that money spent, but yeah.

I've been playing Xcom and just picked up Halo 4 this past weekend.

Yes, Halo 4's campaign is crazy-short. The Spartan Ops seem to help with that. I can't imagine the game being worth a buy without being online.

Just played the Rayman Legends demo (twice). It includes one of the musical levels like they showed at E3 and it's as fun as it looks.

I also downloaded Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on iOS. I'd still recommend the 3DS version, since it comes with most of the tracks built-in and features more modes, but worth playing if you don't have a 3DS. There's some DLC tracks and characters that aren't represented on 3DS too, like Tactics, Crystal Chronicles and Advent Children.

I am also playing through on normal to get a hang of the optimal upgrade path before going at classic mode. I only have one big fear in this game: Chrystalids man....

I just started Borderlands 2 (which I got free from PAX last year), it's super great. And I just bought Arkham City for only $23. So I'm pretty stoked about my near gaming future.

edit: also, since I'm going to be staying with my parents over winter break, and my brother just got Halo 4, we started a legendary co-op run last night, in tradition. Early verdict: despite numerous debatable changes, it still plays like Halo. This'll be fun.

I successfully defended my Master's thesis this afternoon, and to celebrate I finally picked up Catherine. It's pretty dank so far.

I don't like the goodness meter (it went toward the devilish side when I said I feel more nervous around others than I do alone--sorry I'm not sorry...), but I'm still interested in how it affects the story. It's cool that it gives you feedback about what cutscenes are influenced by your goodness.

I swear, these people make the most stylish games I've ever seen. They should expand and become one of those repulsive "lifestyle brands." Atlus jeans. Atlus record label. Atlus x Ralph Lauren presents personaL: men's fragrance

Well, Catherine has been solid all the way through, save for a weird control flaw and the instant deaths later in the game. If we set the maturity bar at this game, the game world wouldn't be quite the f**king embarrassment that it is.

It was really hard to send those shitty text messages, though--they were the most uncommunicative, sniveling texts I could imagine. And I apparently got a "bad" ending because of my choices in the game. I hate that s**t. I think we have enough computer resources in a PS3 to do something a little more sophisticated than project dozens of binary choices down to a single integer between 1 and 8. Christ.

I'm currently playing Resident Evil 6 & I dunno. I'm impartial to it. I want to like it but there's a lot of aspects I just don't like really. The story (or lack of) doesn't do anything for me & controls feel off compared to RE5 which I still think is much better. Though I'm not done yet so we'll see. I'm almost done Chris & Jake's campaigns so still Leon & Ada to try. Saving Leon for last cause I hear its a little more like the older ones (in the fact that its zombies again finally). Also waiting for an order of some old school games to come my way & when that does I'll be playing Alien 3, Blaster Master & Starfox

Post Re: What are you currently playing?
Been bouncing between Mists of Pandaria, Tomb Raider 1, Legend of Dragoon, Majora's Mask, and Awesomenauts (THANKS CHUNK!). I pretty much ran out of things to do in WoW on my Druid main, besides PvP and hoping that my guild gets a raid scheduled post-new-year. So, I leveled a Rogue into MoP content that I had sitting around and really enjoyed it.

Tomb Raider 1 is frustratingly awesome, and I believe this is actually the first time I have had a chance to play it. I have 2 and 3 on the PSX, but when the whole lot of them went on a Steam sale I just had to get them. About halfway through and still having fun, because it feels so good when you get the controls down and perform a fluid multi-jump maneuver.

Legend of Dragoon was a holiday throwback because I recalled when I got it for XMAS in 2000. Surprisingly easy to pick back up, and I didn't struggle with the addition system as much this time. That is... until I got to the last few on each character that require like 8+ button presses.

Everybody likes Majora's Mask, no explanation there.

Awesomenauts is so neat. I despise MOBA style games usually, but for some reason it works so well in 2D. Part of it could be the perspective and control style, and part of it could be the relatively low number of characters to learn. Unlike other MOBAs there isn't really a necessary team comp to win. Sure it helps to have a Tank, Harass, and Support but it is by no means necessary. I highly recommend people pick this up so we can set up a pre-made and rock some face.

I got the Tomb Raider Trilogy pack off GoG myself, hoping they're a bit better than the PSX versions or something. I remember the controls being really tough in the original even on the PSX, but I've always wanted to really play through the series someday since I grew up always catching a bit of them at some of my friends' and stuff.

Been playing Phantasy Star IV myself lately, great stuff.

I'm continuing to play catch-up on summer 2011 games: I got From Dust today. It's so cool. In addition to having interesting challenges, it simulates erosion! You can make your own freaking river deltas.

The primary benefit is being able to save anywhere instead of at save points. TR1 is the only one that runs in DOSbox, and I believe there are mods out there to enhance the graphics to emulate the old 3DFX Glide... but people are charging money for them. So I said balls to that and just dealt with the jaggies. The native controller support in TR1 is incompatible with pretty much any controller you would be using now, so you need to bind user defined keys and then map them with Joy2Key or your preferred secondary binding tool.

The new SimCity is every bit as brilliant as I hoped. The one hour limit on the beta is torturous though. If I hadn't already pre-ordered I'd be doing that right about now.

Also, I finished Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. I really enjoyed it, and the ending was crazy but goddamnit it sets up hard for a sequel and I want it now.

I finished one playthrough of The Cave yesterday. It's a lot of fun. You have to play it a minimum of three times to play all seven characters. First one I did the Monk, Scientist, and Adventurer. Currently using the Hillbilly, Knight, and Time Traveler.

Path of Exile is a really neat dungeon crawler. Interesting world, items as currency, "sphere grid" style leveling, badass crafting/item enhancement, ACTUAL diversity in class spec/skills. Yeah... this is what Diablo 3 should have been.

I've been playing a lot of the the new Devil May Cry. I've never been a huge fan of this series but I'm loving the s**t out of this game. The story plays like something a 16 year old goth kid wrote after reading a few too many Gorge Orwell novels, but there's actually something kind of awesome about it. Having a huge demon screaming "f**k YOU!" as some angry ass metal song cuts in and you start slicing the thing to pieces has this odd ability to make you feel like a bad ass. There are also a few levels thrown in that are just beyond inspired. Fighting a boss within the context of a news report is way cooler than this sentence gives it credit for. If anyone is thinking about grabbing it, I suggest looking into the PC version. While the console versions are locked at 30fps, the game gets up to 60fps on the PC and it shows.

Also, Antichamber. That game be cray.
