I'd say that the Three Broomsticks' butterbeer takes the cake.

I'm currently intoxicated to St. Peter's English Ale in one hand and Guinness in the other.

Don't you judge me.

Everybody's been pimping guinness, can't believe I forgot about Guinness. I've got some in the fridge right now, plus a 24-pack (yes, BOTTLES. Takes up half the fridge) of some stuff called Sun-Rye by Red Hook. I think I've mentioned before that one of my students owns a major local beer distribution chain. He's always bringing me in nummy stuff to try, and Sun-Rye is the most delicious golden beer I've ever had. It also has little floaty bits in it and a single bottle slaps you like three shots. It's great.

Also, I don't get drunk. I've never been very drunk. I drink because beer and liquor are delicious.

You seem like you'd be a cute drunk. A lot of girls around my age are really goofy and sweet when drunk. Are you one of those, or a punch-you-in-the-arm "Yudaman!!!" kind of drunk?

It's hard to find anything 'dark' around here, at least from a distributor. By distributor I mean this state has laws preventing the sale of alcohol unless you're a specialized outlet and have a license. So I have Sam Adams right now, really not too bad, but hey, it's beer.

I need to get back into mixing after this.

I would like to try that Honey Weiss, but nobody around here has even heard of Leinenkugel.

Hells yeah! I assume you heard about their Scottish mascot guy?

I drink Honey Brown a lot, and a local brewery/pub chain serves a raspberry beer that is absolutely out of this world. Too bad you cant get it outside of their pubs.

Nice! I had Honey Brown yesterday. I was doing a trio gig at a birthday social. A prof. at the U of M was turning 80. It was alot of fun. Honey Brown has a really smooth taste. In Winnipeg, they have Fort Gary Ale which is the beer that's right out of Winnipeg. It's actually really good. I don't think they export it though.

Currently intoxicated to: Fetzer Chardonnay. Yum! I make a mean f**king lobster, shrimp, new potato, and brocolli Sunday dinner, but it was the Fetzer that reminded me how delicious that meal was. My wife cooks better than 99% of everyone on the face of this planet, but when it comes to shellfish, I'm the f**king pimp-daddy-mac'll make you wanna jump! jump!

For reals, yo.

What the f**k?!? You've gotta RED wine that s**t up and down. I authorize you to drunkenly drive to whichever store you bought that at, return the bottle, and have them somehow refill it with a nice Merlot. Tell 'em Anoph sent you. If they laugh, it's because they're nervous.

I'm late to the party, but my turn!!!

- I think Guinness is good but AWESOME mixed. Like a Black and Red (Guinness and Framboise Lambic). It turns that nasty head into candy.

- My favorite budget beer is Yuengling. It's smooth with no aftertaste and it's damn cheap.

- Firewater is a guilty pleasure. I've never had anything so harsh and hoppy, but some nights I just can't stop drinking it. It's like eating hot wings. The only way to get rid of the burn is to eat another one.

- I used to brew beer a good bit. I think Prophet tried some. I don't think Chunk did... can't remember. We had 3-4 good batches until we accidently didn't close the bucket all the way, and came out with this ultra skunky wheat beer. Did we drink it anyway? Hell yes. We had a great ale, stout, and porter though. Brewing is great considering you get 48 gourmet beers for like $20.

- The craziest recent experience was with a beer called Storm King. I was in Total Wine buying Lambic, and the beer geek locked onto me. "Ya know, if you like Guinness, you should try this." It was Storm King. He said he had it for his homework the night before, and although the percentage was only 9%, that's considered a minimum. He said one 12 oz knocked him on his ass. Sure enough, he sold me a single, I took it him, and on my ass I was knocked.

Find Storm King. It will only be at one of those beer/wine distro's though. Very rare.

My roommates in college brewed their own beer. Given the amount of work they put into it, I don't know that $20 is a fair estimate. I've given thought to brewing some myself, but given how little I actually drink, it wouldn't be worth it. I'll buy a six pack and it'll last a month.

I give my hearty support to Yuengling as well.

I'm going to have to agree with those who said Keith's, excellent beer. St. Patty's we were at the Breezeway (bar on campus) drinking down dyed green Keith's jugs.

As for other beers I love, let's go with:
- Labatt's Blue, now this is where it's at, in my opinion the best pilsener beer that can touch your tongue

- Blue Star, brewed here in Newfoundland, also a product of Labatt's, what I choose when I'm in a lager mood ya know?

- Quidi Vidi Honey Brown, another local dream of pure inebriation, my dad rooted my love for this last Christmas when he cracked one open with me. It's a good drink, smooth, not so hard.

- For kicks, and for the fact this beer is actually good... MONTY PYTHON'S HOLY AIL! That's right, Holy Ail, it comes in singles (from what I've experienced) and comes to roughly 3-4 dollars a bottle Canadian. It's a good drink for novelty purposes because in my opinion tastes like Rickard's red beer does.

Chunk, my buddies did the same thing the first of this semester when it came to brewing booze ha. Brewed it in the room next to mine. The fumes that came from under that door were strong, I have no idea how my friend Glen was able to sleep in there with three large buckets filled with yeasty beer mix spewing fumes everywhere, but he's still alive ha. They came out of it with a good 20-odd 2L bottles between 3 of them. It was pretty tasty stuff I might add, not too bitter, had some zing to it and it went down like water.

As long as you get a bunch of Grolsch bottles so you don't have to worry about capping, and you have a bathtub that your roomate doesn't mind soaking bottles in, it's worth it.

Althought I haven't made a batch since the skunky one...

MY dad used to brew his own beer...he and grandad seemed to like it, but I was only about 10 at the time and don't like beer, so I can't give my opinion on its taste.
But our homemade wine was good :P that really was good :P

The best wine I've ever had was some that my dad's friend, Frank, made. If I remember right, Frank is going to be the eight person in the world with a winology degree - he's f**king crazy. He can taste the wine, tell you what grapes it was from, where it was bottled, and around the time it was made. He gave my dad three cases of different wines the last time he came over, and there was even a bottle of wine that is about $115 wholesale, and Frank's was even better than that.
